“Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.”—Isaiah 43:18–19
God has declared this new month as a season of new beginnings for us through His servant. This means that God is launching each and every one of us into a new phase in life and destiny. Our God is a God of new beginnings, and He desires that we also step into all that He has prepared for us in this season. This new beginning speaks of a fresh start, improvement in our lives, resources, finances and every area of our lives. It is a season of blessings, favour, promotion, progress and other good things God has prepared for us.
For us to fully step into this new beginning, there is a part we have to play, and that is to set aside the things of the past. One of the things that hinders people from making progress in life is holding on too tightly to their past achievements. This can create an “arrival mentality”, the feeling that there is nothing better than what you have already achieved. But that is not the kind of life God wants for us. He wants us to keep moving forward and making progress.
Sometimes, what we need to leave behind may not necessarily be something bad. It could be a past achievement, a relationship or a season of our lives. On the other hand, it could also be something painful, such as hurt, disappointment or failure. Whatever it may be, God is leading us into a new phase, and we must be willing to let go of what is behind and move forward.
Apostle Paul, speaking in (Philippians 3:13–14) said, “Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” From this scripture, we learn that we must keep pressing forward and reaching for what God has prepared for us. There is more ahead, so we must not allow where we are today to stop us.
As we step into this new season, God is set to do something new with us. He has promised to make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. Let us align ourselves with His will and allow Him to lead and direct us according to His perfect plan for our lives, and as we trust Him and allow Him to lead us, may we experience all that He has prepared for us in this new season. Amen.
